A Stay Inside Skin Care Regimen

Our skin is our largest organ so it is important to make sure we are taking good care of it. You can minimize the adverse effects of these current indoor times and maintain your glow, especially with the help of Jamie Gummere Owner/Aesthetician, Blush Beauty Lounge.

KEEP IT CONSISTENT.

Consistent action produces consistent results. Skin, like so many parts and processes of the human body, follows an internal clock, a “sleep-wake” cycle known as circadian rhythm. During the day skin cells are in defense mode, working to protect themselves from UV exposure and free radical damage. When the sun goes down, your mind and body switch into an active regeneration mode repairing daytime damage and boosting the production of substances that protect and renew. So, whatever you do to treat your skin, you should do it every day, in the morning and again at night.

VITIMAN C.

Jamie GummereOwner/Aesthetician, Blush Beauty Lounge says “Vit C is the caretaker of the cells.  In the same way oral Vit C boosts immunity,  topical Vit C strengthens the skin’s barrier, provides antioxidant support, and prevents free-radical damage.  When your immunity is low, you’ll lose your glow! Use topical Vit C daily and top with a daily sunscreen!”

TWO WORDS: DRINK WATER

Nothing nourishes and replenishes the body—and skin—quite like drinking water. Try adding a couple glasses to your daily intake to compensate for all that hand washing. That, plus a moisturizer, will help fight dry skin.
